Who we are

Wyoming Express Plumbing is a plumbing dispatch and service company based at 1021 28th St SW in Wyoming, Michigan. Our 24/7 line connects homeowners and businesses in Wyoming and nearby Kent County towns with licensed and insured plumbers.

We focus on the calls people cannot put off: burst pipes, sewer backups, drains that will not clear, failed water heaters and hidden leaks. We also schedule planned work such as water heater installation, repiping and fixture repair when you want it done properly rather than urgently.

How we work

You call one number at any hour. We ask what is happening, tell you how to limit damage, and send a plumber. You hear a clear price before work starts, and you decide whether to go ahead.

We say plainly what we do not do. We are plumbers, so water damage restoration, electrical repair, HVAC and structural work are outside our scope, and we will point you toward the right trade when a job crosses that line.

What we handle

Our emergency work covers burst and frozen pipes, sewer and drain backups, water heater failures, leak detection and failed sump pumps. Planned work covers water heater installation, tankless service, repiping, fixture repair, garbage disposals, boilers and light commercial plumbing. Every service has its own page with plain explanations of how the repair works and what affects the price.

We do not publish fixed prices, because the right number depends on access, pipe material, the extent of damage and the hour. What we do commit to is that you hear a clear price before work starts.

Licensing and permits

Michigan licenses apprentice, journey and master plumbers and plumbing contractors through the state's Bureau of Construction Codes, and you can check any license through the state's online lookup. Our plumbers are licensed and insured.

Plumbing work in Michigan follows the 2021 Michigan Plumbing Code, which is based on the 2021 International Plumbing Code (IPC). In Wyoming, the city requires a plumbing permit before work such as replacing a hot water heater or replacing drain, vent or water supply pipes. A permit holder must be licensed for that work or be the owner who lives in the home. We explain which jobs need a permit when you call, so nothing surprises you at inspection time.

Safety first: how we decide what is an emergency

On the phone we sort calls by what could get worse in the next few hours. Running water that you cannot stop, sewage coming up through a drain, no heat in freezing weather and any gas smell all go to the front of the line. A slow drain, a dripping faucet or a water heater that still works but is aging can usually wait for a same-day or next available appointment.

If you are unsure, call anyway. We would rather talk you through a shutoff and then book a calm daytime visit than have you wait out a problem that is quietly damaging a floor or a ceiling.

Why a single dispatch line

Plumbing emergencies rarely happen at convenient times. A single number that is always answered means you are not searching for a plumber while water spreads across a floor. The person who answers can tell you how to shut off water, what to move out of the way, and what to expect when the plumber arrives.

Because the line is staffed around the clock, you also get one consistent record of what was said. If you call again about the same job, we can see what was already discussed instead of starting over.

Things to have ready when you call

Your street address, the nearest cross street if you can name it, and a short description of what you see, hear or smell. If you know where the main water shutoff is, say so, and tell us whether you were able to close it. Photos are not required, but a clear description of where the water is coming from helps the plumber bring the right parts.

What we will not do

We will not promise an arrival time we cannot control, quote a price before understanding the job, or recommend a replacement when a repair is the honest answer. If a job needs a permit, we tell you. If it belongs to another trade, such as restoration after water damage, an electrician or an HVAC company, we tell you that too.

Where we work

Our home base is Wyoming, and we also cover Grandville, Kentwood, Walker and Byron Center. Each town has its own utility and permit rules, so we plan around them instead of treating every address the same. See the full service area or browse our services.
