What changes from town to town

Wyoming and Grandville both take Lake Michigan water through the Wyoming treatment plant, so hardness and scale problems look similar. Kentwood may be served by a different system depending on the street, so check your bill. Walker is on Grand Rapids water and sewer. Byron Center homes may be on a utility authority system or on private septic and well systems.

Those differences matter in an emergency. A sewer backup in Wyoming starts with a call to Public Works to find out which side of the line the problem is on. In Byron Center it may be a septic issue instead. We ask the right question first, so you are not paying for the wrong repair.

Permits work the same way. Wyoming runs its own Building Inspections office. Grandville sends plumbing permits to a contracted inspection firm, and Kentwood uses its own online permit portal. When a job needs a permit, the town page for your address tells you where to start.

Which towns call us most

Wyoming calls tend to come from older single-story homes built during the postwar boom, where original water heaters, cast iron drains and galvanized lines reach the end of their life. Grandville calls often involve the same era of housing plus newer retail and commercial buildings near the river.

Kentwood and Walker calls lean toward sewer and leak problems, partly because of the mix of older subdivisions and newer construction. Byron Center sees more sump pump and basement water questions, and more septic and well questions than the other towns. Each town page goes deeper on what that means for your repair.

ZIP codes we serve

Wyoming is served under 49509 and 49519. Grandville is 49418 and 49468. Kentwood is 49508, 49512, 49546 and 49548. Walker is 49534 and 49544. Byron Center is 49315. If your ZIP is not on the list but your town is close, call and ask. We will tell you honestly whether we can send someone, and how soon.

Each town page lists its own ZIP codes and explains how they line up with local streets, so you can confirm coverage before you dial. The map at the bottom of every page shows the area we dispatch from.

Confirming we cover your address

The fastest way is to call the 24/7 line and give the dispatcher your street address. For most addresses in the five towns above the answer is immediate. For addresses near a town border, such as the Wyoming and Kentwood line or the Wyoming and Grandville line, we confirm which crew is closest before we commit to a visit.

If you are on the edge of the area, tell us the problem first. A running leak or a sewage backup deserves a straight answer about what we can do tonight, and if we cannot reach you quickly we say so and suggest what to do in the meantime.

What to expect on arrival

A plumber will look at the problem before anything is touched, explain what they found in plain words, and give you a clear price before work starts. You decide whether to go ahead. If the repair needs a permit in your town, we tell you which office to contact and what it will ask for.

When the job is done we check the repair, show you where the shutoff valves are, and tell you what to watch for over the next few days. If something does not look right afterward, call the same number and the dispatcher will pick up from your job notes.

How we choose what to cover

Coverage follows the 24/7 dispatch line, so a call from any of the towns above reaches the same number. Each town page explains local utility and permit details that affect your job. If you are just outside these areas, call and ask.
